Summary. NewsGlobe has no user accounts, advertising, cross-app tracking, or analytics SDK. The app and its aggregation service process limited data only to provide the news, translation, comparison, analysis, research, support, and optional interest-alert features you request.

The app stores preferences such as language, display settings, selected topics, interests, Anthropic permission, notification state, and saved research notes on your device. NewsGlobe does not use these records to create an advertising profile. You can clear saved research inside the app. Other local records are removed when you delete the app.
Depending on the feature you choose, a request to the NewsGlobe service may include:
Selected map coordinates describe the point you choose on the globe. NewsGlobe does not request the device's GPS location. The service uses submitted information only to return the requested headlines, translations, comparisons, analysis, and alerts; operate and secure the service; and diagnose failures. NewsGlobe does not sell it, use it for advertising, or link it to a NewsGlobe account.
NewsGlobe does not maintain a user-account database. Request and result records are held in the server process memory. A general cached result is treated as fresh for 10 minutes, but an expired entry—which may include selected map coordinates, a search or interest term, an article title or URL, or an Event Analysis request—may remain in memory until the server process restarts. There is currently no fixed restart interval. Translation entries are treated as fresh for six hours and are held in a bounded in-memory cache of up to 5,000 entries. Reverse-geocoding entries and public publisher article metadata currently remain in memory until a restart without a separate time-based expiry. A restart clears these in-memory records.
Normal proxy access logs may contain an IP address, user-agent, request method and path, timestamp, status, response size, and referrer, but omit query-string values. Access and error logs are rotated daily; the current file and 14 rotations are retained, normally for no more than about 15 days. Error and security logs may contain fuller request details. Backend service journal entries are removed by size-based rotation and currently have no fixed maximum retention period; some provider-error entries may contain a search phrase derived from a request. These records are used only for security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, and service reliability.

Where a service provider processes user data on NewsGlobe's behalf, NewsGlobe requires the provider to give it the same or equivalent protection described in this policy and required by applicable law. NewsGlobe does not authorize a provider to use submitted user data for advertising or cross-app tracking. Availability and the provider used can vary by country and feature.
If you choose to send a support or feedback email, your mail application—not the NewsGlobe API—sends your sender address, message, app version and build, and iOS version to the NewsGlobe support Gmail mailbox. A bug-report template also includes the selected translation language. The message is not sent until you confirm it in your mail application. Support correspondence is retained for up to 12 months after the last correspondence, then manually deleted, unless a longer period is reasonably needed for security, dispute resolution, or legal compliance. You may request earlier deletion by email.
Interest-alert preferences are stored on your device. To check for a relevant news spike, the app may send those interests and the selected language to the NewsGlobe service. iOS controls whether and when background checks and local notifications can run. NewsGlobe does not use a third-party advertising push service.
You can use Event Analysis without Anthropic, revoke Anthropic permission for future requests at any time in NewsGlobe Settings, avoid optional analysis and alert features, clear saved research inside the app, change notification permission in iOS Settings, or delete the app to remove its local data.
You may request deletion of support correspondence or identifiable service-log records by emailing npans1354@gmail.com and providing enough information—such as the approximate request date and IP address—to locate the record. NewsGlobe has no account identifier with which to locate an individual in-memory cache entry. Deletion may be limited where retention is required for security, abuse prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance. You may also use the same address to ask what data applies to your request or to object to further optional processing.
The NewsGlobe service and its providers may process data in countries other than your own. Providers also operate under their own privacy terms, including the Google Privacy Policy, Microsoft Privacy Statement, and Anthropic API retention information. Where required, NewsGlobe relies on the user's request to perform the selected feature, explicit permission for optional Anthropic processing, and legitimate interests in security and service reliability.
NewsGlobe may update this policy when its features or providers change. The date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be reflected on this page before or when the changed processing begins.
